Late start on the day as the streets and, probably, inside the hotel becomes very noisy after midnight. We finally gave up and dropped the garage doorlike shutter at about 3:00 AM. Then we both fell asleep to wake at about 11 with the ringing of the church bells. We got on with it and walked into the middle of the Rambla and found the Historical Museum. In the museum's basement, there was a former apartment where during renovations, a number of Roman pillars where found. These became part of the living space until the museum. Dig anywhere in Europe and you find another empire.
This shot is between very old buildings to a palm tree beyond. The influence of the Moor's is visible in the architecture (particularly the ornate ironwork which I would love to take home).

From the sublime ~ this is one of the few parking areas we found during our walks. The picture may not show how tiny the spots are and the hourly rate of 12 EUROs. Must be why most folks use scooters, motorcycles and shoes for getting about.

Today's lunch was not nearly as much of an adventure but it was definitely multi-cultural. We ate in O'Hara's Pub where we had pizza with John having a Belgian beer while watching football (soccer to us). Then we stopped into a small shop to pick up water for the room and was served by a lovely East Indian gentleman who has a brother in Toronto. He did warn us to protect our wallets as there are pickpockets in the area.
Heading out for our evening walk... More to follow.
By the way, please excuse spelling errors as spell check is using Spanish and most words are marked as being incorrect. Unless we default to Spanish, errors are going to stay.
