The last day on the Norwegian Gem was spent at sea getting back from Crete to Venice, our starting point. Venice is an amazing city to travel through as there is a large port, part of which is dedicated to cruise ships. The ships leave and return through the centre of the city on the Grand Canal. There are 5 cruise ships in today with about 2,000 people disembarking and, later in the day, embarking from each ship which makes for a lot of people.
We are packed and dreading dragging our bags again but we are ready for the next adventure heading to Athens. Hope there are not too many steps and broken pavement in our future.
