King Midas - Gordion - Turkey

King Midas did live and die in Turkey. It is uncertain if this tomb is that of the famous man himself or his father, Gordion, he of the famous knot. In this area, there were several such tombs buried in man made hills. All others had been looted during ancient times but this one remained intact and all the loot is now in a museum. I particularly like this pot.

The rest of this day was not a good day for me as I became very sick to the stomach. So I missed out on the silk market, the Grand Mosque which is the largest in Turkey and the Green Ottoman Complex. Frankly, I was busy dying on the bus so was happy to give the rest a miss.

When we arrived at the hotel, after being sick a few times, I popped a sleeping pill and was out for the night.
