Woke with the ship already docked at Palma de Malloroca and it looked really beautiful. Truly only first day where the sky was really blue. Castle and palm trees dotted the hillside and squares.
To save the long walk through the industrial section, the ship was running a shuttle bus to the town centre. Like all the cities we have seen, history lies close to the surface here but the first thing we ran into was a flea market which was being put on by the Lions Club International. They truly have better quality of junk than we do and, if I did not have to cart it around Europe, I would have brought quite a few items. There were lovely pictures, lamps with a Middle Eastern influence, lovely terracotta pots and great jewellery. This is the island where Majorca pearls are made by the local woman; the quality fo which is impressive.
After about 2 hours of climbing steps, visiting cathedrals and lovely courtyards, we made our way back to the ship.
Final night at the Stardust Theatre with a show with Loco (something) Ole billed as a cross between the 3 Amigos and the Gypsy Kings. Their claim to fame was having played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival at which I understand that anyone on the street can grab their 15 minutes of fame. I was looking forward to being underwhelmed but am pleased to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
Really enjoyed our time on the ship.
