NORWEGIAN JADE Day 2 Monaco

Spent today anchored off the coast of Monte Carlo and we did consider going into town but the high roller casino would likely have resulting in blowing our entire budget , the sale of our house and giving up some vital organ. Actually, they do not dock in Monte Carlo but anchor off shore and folks are run back and forth on the small tender boats with priority given to those on cruise purchased excursion tours.
We saw many wonderful yachts the best of which was a very modern and sleek three sailed vessel. Helicopters chased back and forth. The lifestyles of the rich and famous!
We both used the fitness room in the morning (John much more effectively than I did) in anticipation of another wholesome breakfast. We found a library where we borrowed books which we took up onto the sundeck to read and look at Monte Carlo,
We spent the day exploring the ship ~ did 7 laps around the 7th level which was just short of 3 miles ~ eating and watching a live show in the Stardust Theatre with crew doing a musical tribute to the British 60’s called SHOUT. Best thing was the black girl singing To Sir With Love and, near the finale, they did Those Were the Days by Mary Hopkins. John’s description of the show was good/interesting which is almost as devasting and accurate as nice.
Then we visited the games arcade so John could play a few games without appearing threatening or weird when the children are there.

John is feeling extremely deprived with only 3 meals and is considering ordering room service after all it is past midnight.
Pisa in the morning so we have a wake up call and the alarm set about 3 hours before we have to meet the tour. Can’t be too careful ~ remember belts and braces.

  1. Did John do well on the ship. Did he have to use the Gravol at all. Our weather here has been wonderful. We had a high of 26 today and 28 tomorrow. Babs planted by garden on Friday and then trimmed the hedges on Sunday. Fred arrived back on Wednesday and had a job interview on Thursday and started working today so the little boy is very tired. Babs missing the both of you. She is also happy that Fred is working and she can putter around the house without him giving her a hard time for taking his work away from him. Miss you.

  2. Great news about Fred. Does he need an apprentice? May Babs could apply.

John is good ~ Gravol supply is still intact.
