The Barcelona Evening Stroll

Barcelona puts on parties most evenings. This was a street production in front of a lovely medieval church facade by the Ballets de Catalunya whose role is to gather and present traditional dances from countries where Catalan is spoken. John tells me that this dance is very similar to the English Morris dances. The band also had a bagpipe so some of the music and dances sounded and looked very Celtic.
I love the architecture and the wrought iron. I have taken numerous pictures of light fixtures, water troughs, gates and buildings. Likely these will be boring in the future but I really think they are charming. There is another set of lights which look like ornate ear rings and the string of them down the street is like a well dressed lady.

We are back in the room and there are fireworks and celebrations out in the streets as the Barcelona soccer team won their game. Preview of things to come with the World Cup in the next month (which John is certain that England will win).
Good night folks ~ Maggie
